We're still in spooky season at RCHS! Please come join in the fun as Harry and his fiancée Etta seek a cure for The Werewolf's Curse. Meanwhile, they cross paths with all sorts of interesting crew members of a traveling carnival. Can they cure Harry before it's too late? Will Dr. Einstein create life at last?! Please come join us November 15th and 16th at 7pm in the RCHS cafeteria. Adults are $8 and students are $5. There will also be a dinner prior to the Friday night show. Please contact Kay Rieke to rsvp for that. Join us for a HOWLING good time.

Waylon Hanel came and spoke to several students about his career as a country singer/performer. He even played 3 songs for us. Thank you to Jenny Kling for bringing this opportunity to our students. He will be performing on Saturday night at Cuba.

Shadow box by: Kash Henke
Kash found some old family photo albums. He used them in art to learn how to create negatives digitally, then printed new photos in our dark room as part of his heritage project. He not only learned how to use the darkroom, but he also created a linocut of a camera to add to his piece. 📷

The Republic County Current Issues class planned, organized, and administered a Mock Election for students in grades 6-12. They created an electronic ballot, set up a polling place, and evaluated election data. With 73% of the vote Donald J. Trump won the Jr./Sr. High School vote. Kamala Harris won 8% of the Jr./Sr. High School vote. Third-party candidates and a variety of write-ins took the remaining votes. This was a great opportunity to learn about elections, the process of voting, and how election results are analyzed.
Go Buffs!!!

Today the FCCLA Interior Design STAR event participants met with a professor at K-State to look at samples and ideas!

The Junior High Lady Buffs hosted the Concordia Panthers tonight. The C team opened up the night with a 20-15 victory. The B team followed with a 30-17 win. The A team played the final game of the night but came up short in a 11-22 defensive game.

The FAFSA application will open Dec 1st. Maybe you are sure if your student qualifies as a dependent or independent student. Follow the link to determine what your student is. Knowing this ahead of time will help you know what documents you need to have in order to complete the application.
https://studentaid.gov/fafsa-apply/parents

This FAFSA tool can help students and parents determine which parent counts as the parent on the FAFSA form. Knowing this before the application opens on Dec 1st can help you be ready with all the proper information when the application goes live.

Here are the documents that students and parents will need to gather for the 2025-2026 FAFSA application. That application will open December 1st!
https://studentaid.gov/apply-for-aid/fafsa/filling-out#documents

The 2025-2026 FAFSA will open on Dec 1st. There are some things that you can be doing now to be prepared when it opens. The first is all students need to create an account. Parents also need an account, but if you have one from a previous child, then you use that account. Parents DO NOT make more than one account.

Here is a scholarship opportunity for Seniors that are planning to go into education or a business related field. The deadline for applying is Jan 10th. With the craziness of the Holidays I would encourage students to get their applications submitted as soon as possible. If they have any questions please see Mrs. Hubert or Mrs. Aurand.
