Today the RCHS art room hosted a GLOW party for 3rd grade's AR party! Kids BIG & small enjoyed the fun all day long! 🎨

The following wrestlers will move onto day 2 of the Rocky Walton invitational in Garden City. Carson Beavers, Tyrese Alexander, and Nick Kendall for the boys. Jacqalyn Parde, Faith Dyke, Kaydence Shelly, and Kelby Stone for the girls. Wrestling begins at 9:00 am. Good luck to all wrestlers.

For those assisting with the RCHS forensics tournament tomorrow: we are starting with a judge's meeting at 7:40am tomorrow morning in the front flex classroom. Please enter the school through the West doors and bring pens. Thank you for your help!

Do you have a high school student that has talked about a career in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)? Then these college shadow days would be a perfect college visit day for them! They will be paired with a college student in their area of interest and attend classes and labs with them. They will also have lunch and learn about college life. There is a $40 fee but scholarships are available. The Republic County Wrestlers will be attending the WarCat Wrestling Invitational in Red Cloud, NE on Saturday, January 31st.
The first round begins at 9:30 am with finals beginning at approximately at 5:30 pm.

Boys Teams Invited: Republic County, Franklin, Giltner-Harvard, Kenesaw, Maxwell, Osborne-KS, Red Cloud/Blue Hill, Shelton, and Superior.
Girls Teams Invited: Republic County, EMF, Franklin, Giltner-Harvard, Kenesaw, Maxwell, Osborne-KS, Red Cloud/Blue Hill, Shelton, and Superior.

This Friday January 30th at the Basketball Game the Buffs Robotics team will be serving their Regionally Famous Robo Gumbo and their Secret Recipe Chili Soup. Everyone should take advantage of this rare opportunity. So come out and support the Basketball teams and the Buffs Robotics Team! It might just be the best soup you have eaten.

Our 6th graders have officially entered their archery era 🏹 We've learned how to stand like pros, aim with focus, and most importantly not shoot ceiling tiles. These students have shown amazing patience, self-control, and determination. Every arrow is a reminder that progress comes from practice. Check out the 4 out of 7 bullseyes 🎯 from this young man.

The Republic County Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge will be held on March 3rd at Republic County High School.
6th through 12th graders can participate.
Registration Deadline is February 16th.

Student Shoutout!!!

Last semester, Helena Shelly completed a research project on homelessness and went a step further than the assignment required—she reached out directly to the White House to ask how the federal government is addressing the issue.

Today, Helena received a response acknowledging her concern for the challenges facing our nation and encouraging students like her to stay engaged, work hard, and continue making a positive impact in their communities.

This is exactly what we hope students take away from civics and social studies: that real issues matter, that asking thoughtful questions matters, and that their voices—even as students in rural Kansas—matter.

Very proud of Helena for her initiative and willingness to engage with a complex, real-world issue. This is active citizenship in action.

Republic County will host the Southeast of Saline Trojans on Tuesday, January 27th. Basketball games will be as follows:
Main Gym: 4:30 JV Girls, 6:00 Varsity Girls, 7:30 Varsity Boys
New Gym: 4:30 JV Boys followed by C Team Boys (2 qtrs)

The Annual Daddy/Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, February 7th at the 4-H Building in Belleville, KS.
This event will be held from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm and includes dinner and dancing. Please turn in your registration form with payment to the East Elementary or High School Office by Friday, January 30th.
